Brazilian star pushing for Saudi Al-Hilal exit
The 28-year-old Brazilian wants to return to his home country after Al-Hilal received verbal offers from Cruzeiro and Corinthians to buy the player, according to Arriyadiyah.
The Saudi giants are open for Michael’s departure, but only after after the Saudi Super Cup, which is set to kick off against Al Ahli Jeddah on Tuesday 13 August.
Michael did not play in any of Al-Hilal’s pre-season friendlies in Austria while also complaining of an injury before their friendly against Al Duhail on Thursday.
Michael joined Al-Hilal in January 2022 from Brazilian giants Flamengo for a fee of €7.5 million, making 102 appearances in Saudi Arabia in which he scored 20 goals. He also managed to win five trophies with Al-Hilal, including two Saudi Pro League titles, two Saudi Cups, and one Saudi Super Cup.
Al-Hilal are yet to make a major summer signing, with all their foreign players from last season still at the club, including Renan Lodi, Michael, Neymar, Sergej Milinkovic Savic, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Kalidou Koulibaly, Yassine Bounou, and Ruben Neves. They are trying to get one of Vitor Roque or Jhon Duran to improve the squad.
The Saudi champions are trying to keep their squad refreshed in their bid to retain the league title and return the AFC Champions League title to Riyadh.
