Lamar Jackson earns two ESPY nominations in 2024.
Lamar Jackson’s opportunities for individual accolades keep growing, as he has been nominated for two ESPY awards in 2024. Following his stellar season, in which he was nearly unanimously voted league MVP, Jackson is a contender for the best NFL player award. Competing against him in this category are Cleveland Browns edge rusher Myles Garrett, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey.
Jackson has also earned a nomination for best play, thanks to his remarkable performance in the AFC Championship game against the Chiefs, where he caught his own deflected pass and ran for a first down. Other top plays in contention include Oklahoma’s Jayda Coleman’s walk-off home run that advanced her team to the softball championship series, Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards’ dunk over Jazz’s John Collins, and Alabama’s Jalen Milroe’s touchdown pass on 4th & 31 to secure a victory against Auburn.
In addition, former Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has been nominated for the “Best Comeback Athlete” award.
