West Ham United fans are not exactly known for being quiet — but this time, they may have outdone themselves. Following the Hammers’ stunning result at Elland Road, supporters erupted into such a thunderous celebration that, according to local reports, even the seagulls nesting near the stadium “couldn’t handle the volume.”
Jarrod Bowen, who once again proved to be West Ham’s talisman with another electrifying performance, was serenaded endlessly by the away fans. And when Head Coach David Moyes joined the players in applauding the traveling supporters, the cheers somehow grew louder. Witnesses claimed the roar could be heard all the way back in Stratford.
In a tongue-in-cheek twist, local “seagull representatives” allegedly filed a noise complaint with the council, claiming their afternoon nap had been “violently interrupted by 3,000 overexcited Hammers.” West Ham fans, of course, found this hilarious, vowing to “bring earplugs for the birds next time.”
If the performance at Elland Road is a sign of things to come, both Bowen and Moyes might want to brace themselves — because the noise from the Claret and Blue Army isn’t dying down anytime soon.
