Brighton & Hove Albion have received an encouraging injury update ahead of their Premier League trip to Sunderland on Saturday, October 10, with several important players edging closer to a return.
Kaoru Mitoma is expected to be available after the international break following a lengthy absence caused by a hamstring problem. The Japan international missed the end of last season and the 2026 World Cup after undergoing surgery, but reports indicate he could be involved against Sunderland if he completes his return to fitness.
Jack Hinshelwood is also in contention after missing Brighton’s last five matches with an ankle injury. The midfielder suffered the problem in training but is expected to have a chance of returning for the trip to the Stadium of Light.
However, Yankuba Minteh’s situation remains less certain. The winger has not featured this season after suffering a leg injury during pre-season, and Brighton have yet to receive a confirmed return date from head coach Fabian Hürzeler. Current reports suggest November could be a realistic timeframe for his comeback.
The potential return of key players would provide another boost for Brighton, who have enjoyed an impressive September, including a 5–0 victory over Coventry and a 3–0 win against Arsenal.
Brighton will now hope their injury situation improves further as they prepare for a Sunderland side that awaits them at the Stadium of Light.
