Brighton & Hove Albion could yet make another significant move in the summer transfer window as the Seagulls continue to assess their options ahead of the deadline.
Brighton have already been one of the more active clubs in the market, bringing in several young players as part of their long-term recruitment strategy. Their arrivals include Luka Vuskovic, Zadok Yohanna, Costinha, Pascal Struijk, Michael Svoboda and Rodrigo Rego.
However, with the new Premier League season approaching, Brighton could still look to strengthen further, particularly if opportunities emerge for proven top-flight players.
The club’s summer has also included significant departures. Jan Paul van Hecke left for Tottenham in a reported £52 million deal, while veteran forward Danny Welbeck joined Chelsea.
A £70m-rated Premier League player would therefore represent a major investment for Fabian Hürzeler’s side. Brighton’s recruitment model has traditionally focused on identifying players with potential, but the club could benefit from adding more established Premier League experience to a squad that will compete domestically and in the Europa Conference League.
There is currently no confirmed agreement for a £70m Premier League signing, so any move should be viewed as a potential transfer rather than a completed deal.
