Rising Demand for Sundowns Stars
A notably strong Bafana team advanced to the semifinals of the tournament in Ivory Coast, ultimately securing a bronze medal. Among the standout players were Sundowns duo Teboho Mokoena and Khuliso Mudau, who featured in every game. Their exceptional performances earned them considerable acclaim and subsequently sparked interest from international clubs.
Teboho Mokoena has reportedly attracted attention from Bournemouth in the English Premier League, as well as clubs in French Ligue 1. Notably, Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly is also rumored to be keen on acquiring his talents. Khuliso Mudau, on the other hand, is drawing interest from RC Lens in the French top flight, adding to previously reported interest from Burnley. Additionally, another unnamed English club is believed to be preparing a bid for the Sundowns right-back.
Earlier this month, reports indicated that Leeds United had joined the list of clubs interested in Mudau.
Agent Confirms Interest from France and England
The player’s agency, JDR Consulting, confirmed the growing interest from abroad, stating, “We’ve had interest from France, we’ve had interest from England. I can’t tell you the names of the clubs, but we don’t have an official offer yet.” Despite the interest, no formal offers have been received thus far.
With Mudau entering the final season of his contract at Sundowns and being 29 years old, the club may be compelled to sell him for a substantial fee. This situation could represent Mudau’s last opportunity to secure a move abroad.
