In a pivotal eighth inning, Austin Riley’s single put the Braves ahead, followed by Ozuna’s two-run homer, cementing their win against the Nationals on Thursday night. Adam Duvall also contributed to the Braves’ success with a home run in the seventh inning, marking Atlanta’s third win in their last four games.

Atlanta gained the lead off Washington reliever Hunter Harvey, with Ozzie Albies hitting a double and Austin Riley driving him home with a single to make it 3-2. Ozuna’s home run, his 18th of the season, further extended the Braves’ lead. He has shown remarkable prowess against the Nationals, with 14 home runs in 37 games against them since 2021.
Atlanta manager Brian Snitker commended Riley’s determination and confidence in overcoming obstacles.
The Braves’ bullpen was solid, with Aaron Bummer pitching a scoreless seventh inning and Raisel Iglesias closing out the game with his 16th save of the season. Despite Mitchell Parker’s strong start, Orlando Arcia broke through with a double in the sixth inning, ending the Nationals’ no-hit bid.
