Will Perdue, a former Chicago Bulls player and long-time analyst, will no longer be part of the Bulls studio broadcasts when the team transitions to the newly established Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) on October 1. According to Perdue, the Bulls organization informed him that they have decided to reduce the broadcast team to a two-person crew, consisting of a host and an analyst. The decision was conveyed to him on a Friday call, as reported by the Sun-Times. Perdue explained that the Bulls opted for this change to allow more flexibility in their shows by making room for guest appearances. While Perdue has been offered occasional guest spots, the network will proceed with only one permanent analyst.
It is anticipated that former NBA player Kendall Gill will serve as the sole analyst, although the identity of the new host is still uncertain. Jason Goff, who has been the host since 2019, is a strong contender to take over as co-host on The Score’s afternoon radio show, which would prevent him from continuing with the Bulls broadcasts. Goff had previously been brought on board by NBC Sports Chicago, along with Perdue and Gill, to create a dynamic and engaging analysis team that provided Bulls fans with candid and insightful commentary. Their chemistry on-air was well-received, and they became a popular trio among viewers.
Reflecting on his time as a Bulls analyst, Perdue expressed gratitude and fondness for the years spent working with the team. A three-time NBA champion with the Bulls during their 1991-1993 run, Perdue has also served as a Bulls ambassador. He shared that he takes pride in the positive feedback he’s received from fans, who appreciated his honest and entertaining insights. Despite stepping away from the studio role, Perdue spoke about his commitment to improving his performance as an analyst, frequently reviewing his shows with his wife for constructive criticism. Although he’s uncertain about his next professional steps, Perdue expressed optimism about future opportunities.
The rollout of CHSN has been slow, with little information regarding distribution, programming, or on-air talent, despite its imminent launch in less than a month. The only public communication from the network came in a June 3 press release, announcing its intention to broadcast Chicago Bulls, Blackhawks, and White Sox games on multiple platforms with a goal of reaching the largest audience possible.
While CHSN will introduce changes to its programming lineup, some familiar faces will remain. Bulls play-by-play announcer Adam Amin, color commentator Stacey King, and producer Marc Brady are confirmed to make the transition from NBC Sports Chicago to the new network. The role of Bulls insider K.C. Johnson, however, is still being finalized. The Bulls’ first preseason game on CHSN is scheduled for October 8, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the network’s launch and the next phase of Bulls broadcasts.
