A recent video of Angel Reese, mic’d up during a Chicago Sky practice session, has gone viral for its fun and lighthearted moments. The WNBA rookie showcased her playful personality while bonding with her teammates and coaches. The Chicago Sky posted the one-minute, 18-second video on their social media, saying, “We know you’ve all been waiting for this one.”
Throughout the video, Reese is seen hitting three-pointers, exchanging handshakes, and engaging in playful banter with teammates. One highlight was her humorous interaction with Sky assistant coach Teresa Weatherspoon. During a drill, Reese teased Weatherspoon, asking, “You tired? I know you tired,” before offering her some water and sharing a laugh. She continued to show off her personality by jokingly taunting the opposing team during a scrimmage, saying, “Ya’ll getting cooked, Hibachi style.”
In another part of the video, Reese chatted with Sky guard Chennedy Carter, sharing how she “used to be on guard until I got tall,” adding to the lighthearted atmosphere. She also brought a fun energy to the practice, dancing and encouraging staff to turn up the music.
Despite Chicago’s current struggles this season, with the team sitting in eighth place overall and fourth in the Eastern Conference with an 11-21 record, Reese has had an impressive rookie campaign. Her presence in the WNBA has been significant, particularly as she continues to make her mark in the league.
Reese made headlines recently when she broke the WNBA record for the most rebounds in a single season. In a game against the Minnesota Lynx, she grabbed 19 rebounds, bringing her season total to 418. This surpassed the previous record of 404 rebounds set by Sylvia Fowles in 2018. Reese achieved her 405th rebound in the second quarter, cementing her place in WNBA history.
With averages of 13.2 points and 12.9 rebounds per game, Reese has also racked up 23 double-doubles this season, including 15 consecutive ones—a remarkable feat for a rookie. Her dominant performance on the boards and her fun-loving personality make her a standout figure in the league, even as her team fights for a spot in the playoffs.
