The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have strengthened their practice roster by signing defensive back Siriman Harrison Bagayogo, as per the CFL Transactions list. This addition follows closely on the heels of the team’s signing of American quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa. Bagayogo, a National player from Bois-Des-Filin, Quebec, joins a revamped defensive backfield for the 2024 season.
Standing 6’3″ and weighing 195 pounds, Bagayogo began his CFL journey with the BC Lions in 2023. During his rookie season, he appeared in 14 games, amassing six defensive tackles and three special teams tackles. However, he was released by the Lions just before the commencement of the 2024 regular season.
Before his professional career, Bagayogo played U Sports football at the University of Guelph. In the 2022 season with the Gryphons, he participated in 10 games, recording ten solo tackles, five assisted tackles, one forced fumble, one interception, two pass breakups, and one blocked kick. His transition to Hamilton presents a new opportunity to prove his worth as a defensive back in the CFL.
Bagayogo’s signing provides the Tiger-Cats with additional depth in their defensive backfield. His special teams experience adds valuable versatility to the roster. Observers will be keen to see if Bagayogo can secure an active role in Hamilton’s defensive lineup for the 2024 season.
