Rúben Neves has once again warmed the hearts of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans after openly admitting he would “love” to return to Molineux one day. The former Wolves captain, now wearing the No.8 shirt for Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal, made it clear that his connection with the club remains as strong as ever, despite his move away from the Premier League.
Neves, who spent six memorable years at Wolves and became a symbol of their rise back to the top flight, revealed that a comeback is something he genuinely dreams about. However, the Portuguese midfielder was quick to stress that any talk of a return must wait. He is currently under contract with Al Hilal and fully respects his commitments to the Saudi champions.
“At the moment, I’m an Al Hilal player,” Neves explained. “I can’t discuss anything about Wolverhampton until my contract here is finished. But everyone knows how much Wolves mean to me.”
His comments will inevitably spark excitement among the Wolves faithful, many of whom still see Neves as one of the club’s greatest modern players. While a return is not imminent, hope clearly remains alive. For now, Wolves fans must be patient, trusting that when the time is right, the door to Molineux could once again open for their former skipper.
