It’s turned into quite the offseason for Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats. After losing much of their production from last season, they had a solid start to the transfer portal season with the additions of Zoom Diallo, Alex Wilkins, and Justin McBride, among others.
However, it didn’t quite feel like Kentucky was doing enough to become a serious Final Four contender next season.
That changed in a big way when the Cats landed Iowa State All-American candidate Milan Momcilovic, arguably the best player to enter the portal this offseason. That instantly made Kentucky a team that could do some real damage in March.
But even with the roster as it stood, it didn’t feel quite like Kentucky was good enough to make the Final Four without a really favorable draw.
