Fulham pushing to secure Calvin Bassey with a new long-term contract

Fulham are reportedly preparing to open discussions with Nigerian international Calvin Bassey over a new long-term contract, with the Premier League club keen to ensure that one of their most dependable defenders remains at Craven Cottage for the foreseeable future.

The 26-year-old centre-back has continued to impress since moving to Fulham from Ajax, establishing himself as an important member of the squad through his consistent performances and defensive reliability. Although there is reportedly no immediate concern within the club regarding Bassey’s future, Fulham would like to resolve the situation sooner rather than later and secure his commitment to fresh terms.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Fulham are looking to reward Bassey for becoming an increasingly important and regular presence in the team. Bassey’s impressive spell at Fulham

Calvin Bassey has developed into one of Fulham’s most trusted defensive players since arriving from Ajax in July 2023. The Cottagers reportedly paid around €21 million to bring the Nigerian defender to West London, and he quickly adapted to the demands of English football.
