Celtic 0–1 Rangers: Naderi Strike Hands Rangers Another Old Firm Victory as Pressure Mounts on O’Neill

Rangers completed a remarkable double over Celtic with a 1–0 victory at Celtic Park on Sunday, securing their second Old Firm win in the space of eight days.

Ryan Naderi scored the decisive goal in the 33rd minute after goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo could only parry Minsu Kim’s effort into his path. The Rangers striker made no mistake from close range to give Derek McInnes’ side the lead.

Celtic had started brightly, with Auston Trusty seeing an early effort ruled out for offside, while Kieran Tierney also struck the crossbar. Rangers, however, grew into the contest and created further opportunities after taking the lead.

Celtic pushed for an equaliser after the break, but Rangers goalkeeper Ivor Pandur produced an important save to deny Colby Donovan. Rangers also had a second goal ruled out for handball as Celtic desperately tried to stay in the contest.

The defeat marked Celtic’s first Scottish Premiership loss of the season and reduced their lead over Rangers at the top of the table to two points. It also represented another difficult result for Martin O’Neill, whose side had already suffered a 3–0 defeat to Rangers in the League Cup the previous week.

With Rangers now having beaten their rivals twice in eight days, the result has added further intensity to the Scottish Premiership title race.
