Portsmouth supporters have been sharing their reactions online after John Mousinho revealed his starting XI and substitutes for this afternoon’s clash with Preston North End. One notable omission from the match-day squad has quickly become a major talking point among the Fratton Park faithful.
The Blues have headed to Deepdale without several key first-team players, with Colby Bishop, Josh Murphy, Harvey Blair, Conor Shaughnessy, Josh Knight and Mark Kosznovszky all sidelined through injury. However, it is the unexpected absence of Keshi Anderson that has sparked the most discussion.
The winger joined Pompey as a free agent on January 20 following his release from Birmingham City and has already made two substitute appearances, coming off the bench against Southampton and West Brom. Given Portsmouth’s lengthy injury list, many fans had expected the 30-year-old to be in line for his first start for the club against the Lilywhites.
Instead, Anderson is missing entirely from both the starting XI and the bench. In contrast, fellow January signings Jacob Brown, Millenic Alli and Ebou Adams have all been handed starting roles, while Gustavo Caballero and Aji Alese have been named among the substitutes.
