Birmingham City are increasingly determined to fend off interest in leading striker Jay Stansfield this summer.
The 23-year-old joined the Blues from Fulham in a club-record £15 million deal in 2024 and has quickly become a key figure at St Andrew’s. After playing a major role in Birmingham’s League One title-winning campaign, he followed up with 11 goals in 47 appearances across all competitions last season.
Stansfield’s impressive performances have not gone unnoticed, with reports suggesting that several clubs are monitoring his situation. Everton, Sunderland, Hull City and Ipswich Town are all believed to be keeping tabs on the former Exeter City forward.
Despite the growing interest, Birmingham remain confident about retaining their star man after securing him on a long-term contract that runs until 2031. The club has reportedly placed a £25 million price tag on the striker in an effort to discourage potential bidders.
Birmingham see Stansfield as a crucial part of their future plans and hope he can help lead the club back to the Premier League. Although he featured against Portsmouth in both league meetings last season, he was unable to find the back of the net on either occasion.
