Portsmouth have officially confirmed the signing of highly-rated striker Marko Milovanovic, also known as Marezi, in a landmark transfer for the club. The 22-year-old completed his long-awaited move to Fratton Park on Thursday, signing a four-year contract with the Blues.
Pompey are understood to have paid an initial €3.5 million, with a further €1.5 million in performance-related add-ons, making the deal worth up to €5 million. The transfer marks Portsmouth’s biggest outlay on a player since 2008 and surpasses the arrivals of Rocco Shein and Hayden Matthews as the club’s most expensive signing under Tornante’s ownership.
Head coach John Mousinho expressed his delight at securing the Serbian forward, describing Milovanovic as an “impressive” talent with the qualities needed to strengthen Portsmouth’s attack. The Blues believe the young striker has the potential to become a key figure as they prepare for the challenges of the new Championship season.
