The 23-year-old arrived at Portsmouth in 2024 and made 18 appearances during his time at Fratton Park.
Confirming the player’s departure, head coach John Mousinho praised his commitment and contribution to the club.
“We’d like to thank Ibane for everything he gave while representing Pompey and wish him every success in the next chapter of his career,” Mousinho said.
“He suffered a significant injury not long after joining us, but worked incredibly hard to recover and played an important role in helping us retain our Championship status last season.
“We felt it was the right time to let him move on so he can enjoy more regular football with a strong League One side. I’m confident he’ll make a positive impact at Huddersfield.”
Meanwhile, Portsmouth are continuing their pursuit of a reunion with former loan favourite Abu Kamara. The winger enjoyed an outstanding spell at Fratton Park during the 2023/24 season, registering 10 goals and 11 assists.
Hull City are understood to be open to offers for the 23-year-old, although several clubs are also monitoring his situation, meaning Pompey could face competition if they decide to make a move.
