Just months after leaving Bradford City, former fan favourite Andy Cook is reportedly reflecting on his time at Valley Parade with a sense of nostalgia — quietly wondering whether his departure came at the wrong moment.

Cook departed Bradford City in the summer of 2025 after several memorable seasons with the club. During his time at Valley Parade, the experienced striker became one of the most important figures in the squad, earning a strong connection with supporters through his goals, work rate and commitment to the Bradford City shirt.

Known for his physical presence, aerial ability and instinct inside the penalty area, Cook regularly proved to be a reliable source of goals for the Bantams. Even during difficult periods, he remained a player supporters could depend on to lead the line and make a difference in front of goal.

His time at Bradford City saw him become a key part of the club’s ambitions, with Cook playing an important role through the highs and lows of life at Valley Parade. His performances and personality helped make him a hugely popular figure among the Bradford faithful.

Since his departure, Bradford City have continued working towards building a stronger squad and pushing forward with their ambitions. The club’s progress and the atmosphere around Valley Parade have reportedly remained of interest to Cook, who continues to keep an eye on his former side from afar.

«“Andy always had a strong connection with the fans,” a source close to the player said. “Moving on made sense for his career at the time, but seeing the club rebuilding and the energy around the team again, there are moments when he reflects and thinks: Maybe I shouldn’t have left just yet.”»

Bradford City supporters still remember Cook for his commitment and professionalism, particularly his willingness to battle for every ball and put his body on the line for the team.

For many Bantams fans, he represented much more than just a goalscorer. Cook became a player who understood what playing for Bradford City meant and one who consistently gave everything whenever he stepped onto the pitch.

While Cook continues to focus on the next stage of his career, his memories of playing in front of the passionate Bradford City support at Valley Parade remain an important part of his story.

For Bradford City, the focus is firmly on the future and continuing to build a team capable of achieving the club’s ambitions.

For Andy Cook, a new chapter has begun — but whenever Bradford City take to the pitch, a quiet thought may still linger:

“I shouldn’t have left.”
