Yasin Ayari has established himself as one of Brighton’s key players over the past two seasons, but his future at the club is now attracting growing attention.
The midfielder started Brighton’s impressive 4-0 victory over Aston Villa and also featured in their Conference League qualifying clash with Tromso.
Ayari also enjoyed an excellent World Cup campaign this summer, further enhancing his reputation and contributing to his growing importance at the Amex. Brighton have previously made it clear that they would demand a significant fee before considering his departure.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, AS Roma are among the clubs monitoring the Sweden international. The Italian side have been impressed by Ayari’s performances at the World Cup and are also aware that his current Brighton contract runs until 2027.
The report claims Ayari is not interested in extending his deal, a situation that could force Brighton to consider selling him before his contract enters its final year. Fabian Hurzeler is reportedly looking for a fee in the region of €40m-€45m to sanction a transfer.
For Brighton, the situation represents a potential concern. Ayari and his representatives appear keen to take advantage of the midfielder’s contract situation, while the club must weigh up the risk of losing a valuable asset for nothing if no agreement is reached.
However, a move to Roma may prove difficult at the current asking price. The Serie A club have already spent heavily during the transfer window, while midfield is not considered an immediate priority for them.
