Bayern Munich Rule Out Move for Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson Amid Summer Striker Search….
Despite recent speculation linking Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson with a move to Bayern Munich, the German giants have firmly shut down any talk of a potential transfer. Bayern sporting director Max Eberl addressed the rumours head-on, making it clear that Jackson is not in their plans — now or in the future.
“Definitely not. I’ve never spoken to him,” Eberl told reporters when asked about the reported interest in the 23-year-old Senegalese forward. The comment puts an end to swirling rumours that Bayern were targeting Jackson as a back-up or rotation option behind England captain Harry Kane.
The Bundesliga champions are in the market for attacking reinforcements ahead of the new season, but their focus appears to be elsewhere. The club recently completed the signing of Colombian winger Luis DÃaz from Liverpool in a deal reported to be worth €50 million. DÃaz, known for his pace, creativity, and direct style of play, brings additional firepower and versatility to Bayern’s front line.
Jackson, who joined Chelsea from Villarreal in 2023, had an inconsistent debut season at Stamford Bridge. While his physical attributes and occasional flashes of brilliance showed promise, he struggled with finishing and consistency in the Premier League, resulting in reduced minutes and waning confidence from the coaching staff. Chelsea are reportedly open to offers for the striker as they continue to reshape their squad under manager Enzo Maresca.
Interestingly, Bayern’s search for more attacking options has also seen them revisit interest in Chelsea star Christopher Nkunku. The French international was previously on Bayern’s radar before his move to London, and fresh reports suggest that the Bundesliga side may attempt to lure him back to Germany. Nkunku’s debut season at Chelsea was hampered by injuries, but his technical quality and Bundesliga pedigree from his RB Leipzig days still make him an attractive prospect.
As Bayern prepare for another title challenge, they are clearly being selective in their recruitment. Eberl’s candid dismissal of the Jackson links suggests the club is prioritizing proven performers with a consistent track record — rather than short-term fixes or speculative additions.
With the summer window still open, Bayern’s business may not be over just yet — but one thing is clear: Nicolas Jackson won’t be part of their plans.
