Keeper Cartwright joins Hartlepool on loan….
The 23-year-old joins the National League from the Tigers in a third loan spell, after spending time at Wycombe Wanderers and Grimsby Town.
Cartwright has played 29 games in the EFL, 25 of those in League Two for Grimsby.
He also has international experience, having played for England at youth level.
For Hartlepool, this signing is more than just filling a spot between the sticks. It’s a statement of intent. After a mixed start to pre-season and concerns over consistency in goal, the addition of Cartwright provides a commanding presence and a modern keeper who’s just as comfortable with the ball at his feet as he is pulling off reaction saves.
Manager Darren Sarll expressed his delight at the capture, calling Cartwright “a young goalkeeper with huge potential, hunger, and the kind of attitude we want in this squad.”
Fans will be watching closely as Cartwright looks to establish himself as a first-choice option, and possibly springboard his career with a standout campaign in the National League.
It’s a win-win on paper: Hartlepool get a top-quality keeper with EFL experience, and Cartwright gets the regular minutes he needs to take the next step
