GLASGOW — Rangers head coach Danny Röhl has addressed recent responses from supporters as the Scottish Premiership season intensifies.
Röhl, who took over at Ibrox last year, has asked for patience and support from fans amid a challenging period of results and performance. After some home games saw sections of the crowd express frustration — including boos during a match against Kilmarnock despite a strong 5-1 win — the German manager said he was surprised by the reaction but understands how passionate the supporters are. He emphasised that winning and improving together is the priority.
“If we bring everyone closer and we are really strong together, then I think we can really be successful,” Röhl said after a recent league match, thanking fans for their backing while also acknowledging there is work to do.
Röhl also highlighted that his squad must improve in key moments and that maintaining high standards every game will be crucial if Rangers are to compete for titles this season. He noted positives from recent performances but warned that consistency remains a focus.
Elsewhere, he was recently asked about club captain James Tavernier’s future after the defender scored a hat-trick in Rangers’ 8-0 Scottish Cup victory over Queen’s Park. Röhl praised Tavernier’s leadership but said no final decision has been made on his contract situation.
Röhl’s message is clear: while fans’ passion is welcome, a strong bond between the team and supporters will be essential as Rangers aim for silverware and progress in both domestic and cup competitions.
