Netflix to Honour Bradford City Icon in New Documentary – “Claret & Amber Forever: The Stuart McCall Story”
Netflix has confirmed a feature-length documentary celebrating Bradford City legend Stuart McCall — a man whose name still echoes around Valley Parade. The film, titled “Claret & Amber Forever”, is scheduled for global release in spring 2026 and will offer supporters an emotional look at McCall’s journey with the Bantams.
A Bond Forged in Claret & Amber
McCall’s relationship with Bradford City is the kind football rarely sees today.
From his debut in 1982, to returning as a veteran leader in the late 1990s, and later taking charge as manager, McCall made more than 395 appearances for the club. To many, he remains “Mr Bradford City.”
The documentary traces his early football roots, his rise through the professional game, and the deep bond he shared with supporters who saw in him loyalty, grit and pride in the club and city.
Moments That Shaped a Legend
“Claret & Amber Forever” revisits defining chapters in McCall’s career, including:
the club’s push for promotion during the late 90s
McCall’s leadership as captain
Bradford’s dramatic 1998–99 Premier League promotion season
his later return as manager during challenging periods
Supporters will hear from former players, coaches, club staff and lifelong Bantams, alongside rare footage capturing McCall’s influence behind the scenes.
More Than a Footballer
Beyond the pitch, the film highlights McCall’s humility, community presence and dedication to nurturing younger players.
Producers describe the project as:
“a tribute to the heart and spirit of a man who carried Bradford wherever he went.”
A Legacy That Lives at Valley Parade
Although no statue has been formally announced, the film concludes with a symbolic scene at Valley Parade — supporters laying scarves at the entrance as McCall walks across the empty pitch at dusk. The image serves as a reminder that legacy isn’t only carved in stone, but in memories, loyalty and identity.
Why This Documentary Matters to Bradford Fans
