Coventry City forward Haji Wright has reportedly rejected a £22 million transfer offer from a Premier League club, opting to remain at the CBS Arena as he continues to play a key role in the Sky Blues’ plans.

Wright, 26, is currently a Coventry City player and has developed into a fan favourite since joining the club, earning praise for his goals, physical presence, and ability to deliver decisive performances. His contributions have made him one of Coventry’s most important attacking players and a figure highly valued by supporters.

Sources close to the situation indicate the proposal, which included performance-related add-ons, was viewed as a serious approach reflecting Wright’s strong Championship form. Despite the opportunity to move to the top flight, Wright is understood to have been keen to continue his progress with Coventry City.

> “I’m happy here,” Wright is reported to have said.

“The club has shown belief in me, the supporters have been outstanding, and I feel we’re building something positive together.”

Coventry City are believed to regard Wright as a central part of their sporting plans, particularly given his importance to the team’s attacking structure and consistency at league level. Club sources suggest there was no immediate desire to sell, with Wright’s commitment seen as a positive sign of stability.

The news has been well received by Coventry supporters, many of whom see Wright as one of the standout players in the current squad. Reaction among the fanbase has praised his focus and loyalty, reinforcing his growing status at the club.

With Wright choosing to remain despite strong external interest, Coventry City retain a key attacking option as they continue their Championship campaign and pursue their long-term ambitions.
