Former Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traoré has reportedly admitted in private conversations that he regrets leaving Molineux, two years after making a free-transfer switch to Fulham in the summer of 2023.
Traoré, now 29, signed a two-year deal with Fulham — later extended through 2026 — but has struggled to recapture the comfort, consistency and explosive form that once made him a fan favourite in the West Midlands. Many Wolves supporters still remember him as one of the Premier League’s most feared ball-carriers: a winger with unmatched pace, unbelievable strength and dribbling ability capable of dismantling entire defensive lines.
Since joining Fulham, Traoré has shown flashes of his old brilliance, including a standout performance and goal against Leicester City during the 2024/25 campaign. However, his form has been inconsistent, and injuries have also disrupted his rhythm. As of late 2025, uncertainty surrounds his long-term role at Craven Cottage despite the club triggering their extension option earlier this year.
Fresh reports now suggest that West Ham United, managed by former Wolves boss Nuno Espírito Santo, are considering a January move for the winger. Nuno, who arguably got the best football out of Traoré during their time together at Wolves, is believed to be interested in reuniting with him to strengthen his attacking options.
According to sources close to the player, Traoré has privately expressed that — in hindsight — he underestimated what Wolves offered him. The camaraderie, the tactical fit, and the emotional connection with supporters are aspects he now appreciates more deeply.
“I thought I was ready for a fresh start,” he reportedly told a former teammate, “but you don’t truly realise what you had until you leave it behind.”
While Fulham intend to keep him until the end of the season, a potential reunion with Nuno could give Traoré the fresh spark he has been missing — and perhaps a path back to the form that once made him one of the Premier League’s most electrifying wide players.
