Barcelona’s Lewandowski Encourages to to ‘Find Balance’
FC Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has offered words of advice to rising teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, urging the young winger to “find balance” as he navigates the pressures of professional football and life off the pitch.
At just 17 years old, Yamal has emerged as one of the brightest talents in La Liga and is already drawing comparisons to legends of the game. His explosive pace, creativity, and maturity beyond his years have caught the attention of fans and pundits alike. However, Lewandowski, a veteran of the sport with over a decade of top-level experience, believes it’s crucial for young players like Yamal to develop holistically — not just as athletes, but as individuals.
“Talent is important, but balance is even more important,” Lewandowski said in a recent interview. “Lamine has so much potential, but he needs to make sure he takes care of his body, his mind, and his personal life. That’s what helps you have a long and successful career.”
Lewandowski, 36, has built a reputation not only for his goal-scoring ability but also for his professionalism and discipline. As a senior figure in the Barça dressing room, he has taken on a mentorship role, guiding younger teammates like Yamal through the challenges that come with early stardom.
“At his age, everything can seem overwhelming — the media, the expectations, the fame,” Lewandowski added. “I try to talk with him, not just about football, but about everything. Because if you’re not balanced outside the pitch, it will show on the pitch.”
Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has also emphasized the importance of supporting Yamal’s development, both physically and mentally. With a packed fixture list and growing international duties, the club is carefully managing the winger’s workload.
Yamal, for his part, has responded positively to the mentorship. “Having someone like Robert around is a big help,” he said. “He’s always sharing advice and helping me stay focused.”
As Barcelona continues its campaign both domestically and in Europe, the club hopes that the chemistry between seasoned veterans like Lewandowski and emerging stars like Yamal can pave the way for long-term success.
