Al-Ahli striker Ivan Toney has voiced his frustration over the team’s training conditions in Hong Kong as they prepare for the Saudi Super Cup Final against Al-Nassr. The England international didn’t hold back in expressing his disappointment, describing the preparation as “crazy.”
“To be honest, the preparation and how we have been treated has been crazy,” Toney said. “We’ve been on the worst pitch, training after other teams. It feels like we’re the most hated team — the one everyone doesn’t want to win.”
Despite the setbacks, Toney believes the adversity has fueled Al-Ahli’s determination. “It just gives us extra hunger and fight to win something against these teams,” he added, referencing their emphatic 5-1 victory over Al-Qadsiah in the semi-final.
“You could see that in the game — we showed no remorse. We wanted to score more and more, and we did that. Hopefully, we can take that energy and fire into the final tomorrow,” Toney concluded.
With emotions running high, Al-Ahli will aim to channel their frustration into performance as they face Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr in what promises to be an explosive Saudi Super Cup showdown.
