Former Seattle Seahawks quarterback and fan favorite Geno Smith has admitted he regrets leaving the franchise, just months after joining the Las Vegas Raiders in what was expected to be a promising new chapter. Smith, 33, was traded to the Raiders in March 2025 in exchange for a 2025 third-round draft pick. At the time, the move was seen as an opportunity for him to lead a fresh offense and make a big impact. But the start has been rocky. In his first five starts, Smith has thrown four touchdowns against seven interceptions, while Las Vegas has posted a disappointing 1–4 record. Analysts point to a struggling offensive line and difficulty adjusting to the Raiders’ system as key factors in the team’s poor performance. After Sunday’s 27–13 defeat, Smith reflected candidly on his move: I should be honest — I shouldn’t have left Seattle,” Smith said. “I loved the culture, the locker room, and the support of the fans. I thought I was ready for a new challenge, but I miss the belief and stability we had in Seattle.” During his five seasons with the Seahawks (2020–2024), Smith transformed from a backup into a fan favorite, earning praise for his resilience, leadership, and clutch performances. He helped guide Seattle to multiple playoff appearances, including several late-game comebacks that cemented his status among fans. While a return to Seattle seems unlikely given the current quarterback setup, speculation is already swirling among fans about whether Smith’s career could come full circle.  “I’m committed to giving my best here,” Smith added. “But the truth is, what we built in Seattle was special, and that’s something I can’t replace.
