Derby County F.C. have confirmed that veteran defender Craig Forsyth has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Pride Park until 2027, further strengthening the club’s defensive experience as they continue their campaign in the EFL Championship.
The experienced left-back joined Derby in 2013 from Watford F.C. and has since become one of the club’s longest-serving players. Over the years, he has made more than 350 appearances for the Rams, establishing himself as a dependable presence in defence and a respected figure within the squad.
Club officials view the extension as recognition of Forsyth’s loyalty, professionalism, and leadership both on and off the pitch. Despite the emergence of younger defenders in recent seasons, the veteran has continued to play an important role, offering valuable experience to the team.
The new deal also reflects the club’s desire to maintain a balance between youth and experience under head coach John Eustace, who values the defender’s influence in the dressing room and his reliability during a demanding Championship campaign.
For Derby supporters, the agreement ensures that one of the club’s most loyal servants will remain at Pride Park, with the defender hoping to bring his long association with the Rams to a fitting close in the coming years.
