Derby County have secured the future of promising midfielder Cruz Allen after he signed a new two-year contract with the club, keeping him at Pride Park until the summer of 2028.
The Wales youth international was among three academy graduates in talks over fresh terms following the release of Derby’s retained list last month, and the club has now confirmed an agreement has been reached.
Allen has progressed through Derby’s academy system since joining at a young age and has continued to impress with his development. The club believes the new deal is both a reward for his progress and an opportunity for him to continue pushing for regular first-team involvement.
Speaking after signing the contract, Allen expressed his delight at extending his stay with the Rams.
“I’m really pleased to continue my journey with Derby County. I’ve enjoyed my progress so far, but my focus is now on what I can achieve in the years ahead,” he said.
The talented midfielder recently took part in a Wales training camp and has also earned selection for the national squad competing at the UEFA Under-19 European Championship.
Academy manager Jamie Smith praised Allen’s commitment and development, highlighting the role played by staff across the club in helping him advance from academy prospect to first-team hopeful.
