Derby County allowed the right-back to join Reading FC on loan in League One during the January transfer window so he could gain more regular playing time. He is expected to return to Pride Park at the end of the season, although his long-term future with the club remains uncertain.
Ryan Nyambe, 28, is under contract until June 2027, meaning he still has over a year remaining on his deal. However, he has slipped down the pecking order under John Eustace, which led to his temporary departure earlier this year. As a result, a permanent move away from the club now appears increasingly likely.
The Namibia international, who has earned 17 caps, has featured 13 times for Reading and has generally impressed during his spell in Berkshire under manager Leam Richardson. The Royals currently sit sixth in the table, occupying a play-off spot alongside Bolton Wanderers, Bradford City and Stockport County, with Stevenage FC, Wycombe Wanderers and Plymouth Argyle close behind in the race for promotion.
