Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly aiming to secure a promising young attacker from Birmingham City as they begin planning for the 2026/27 season, while anticipation grows around Storch’s potential takeover.
According to journalist Joe Crann via The Wednesday Word on Substack, the player attracting interest is Frank Tattum, a Blues prospect currently undergoing a trial period with the Owls as he looks to earn a move to South Yorkshire.
The 20-year-old forward has already made an early impression, scoring in Wednesday’s under-21 side’s 2-0 win away at Wigan Athletic on Tuesday. That match, played at the Brick Community Stadium, marked his first appearance during the trial, where he came on at halftime to replace George Brown.
Tattum is expected to leave Birmingham at the end of the season after loan spells with Alvechurch and Leamington in the National League North. There is also a possibility he could feature in Wednesday’s upcoming fixture against Cardiff City, although the duration of his trial remains uncertain.
During his loan stint with Leamington, the striker netted five goals, and while he is still relatively unproven at senior level, supporters will be eager to see whether he can develop into a valuable addition.
Encouragingly, Tattum has shown strong potential in youth football, having scored 19 goals in the 2023/24 season as Birmingham’s under-18 side secured both the U18 Professional Development League North title and the national play-off crown.
