Prime FC, managed by YouTuber KSI—who is also president of the UK version and co-founder of Prime alongside Logan Paul—have made headlines. The league’s official X account revealed that the team is about to make history by featuring the first active academy player in the competition.
That player is Harvey Rees, a goalkeeper from Derby County’s academy, who is making the move.
The switch is being treated as a formal transfer, with BBC Radio Derby’s Dominic Dietrich reporting that a medical waiver has been signed and the move has the club’s approval—making it a unique case.
Rees’ current scholarship deal at Moor Farm is due to expire this summer, which raises doubts about him being offered a professional contract at Derby. Reacting to the news, one fan suggested that after limited opportunities at youth level and a brief spell at Hungerford—where he made just one appearance—Rees may be using this move to boost his profile.
