Excitement is building around Fratton Park as Portsmouth FC begin what promises to be a hugely important summer both on and off the pitch ahead of the 2026/27 Championship campaign.

After successfully securing survival in their first season back in the Championship, Pompey are now looking to build momentum under manager John Mousinho, with recruitment plans, stadium improvements and contract discussions already well underway.

Martin O’Neill has agreed a deal to stay on as Celtic manager next season following the club’s dramatic Scottish Premiership win in May.

The club’s hierarchy are expected to back Mousinho in the transfer market as Portsmouth aim to push further up the Championship table next season. Several areas of the squad are believed to be under review, while supporters eagerly await news on potential new arrivals at Fratton Park.

Away from the pitch, redevelopment work continues to progress around the stadium. Upgrades to facilities and improvements to the Milton End remain part of Portsmouth’s long-term vision, while discussions over a future expansion of the North Stand continue to generate excitement among supporters. The proposed plans could eventually see Fratton Park’s capacity rise beyond 26,000.

There has also been positive news regarding player retention, with experienced midfielder Marlon Pack extending his stay at the club, while negotiations continue with other key squad members over new contracts.

Season ticket sales have remained strong heading into the new campaign, reflecting growing optimism around the club following their return to the second tier. Fans are hopeful that Portsmouth can continue their upward trajectory and establish themselves as a competitive Championship side once again.

With transfer activity expected to intensify in the coming weeks and long-term projects continuing behind the scenes, there is a growing sense that an ambitious new chapter is beginning for Portsmouth FC.
