eFacundo Buonanotte is attracting fresh interest from several clubs after an underwhelming loan spell at Leeds United.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder was initially linked with Leeds during last summer’s transfer window but instead joined Chelsea on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion. Limited playing opportunities in London saw him move to Leeds in January, where he also struggled to make an impact, featuring just four times in all competitions as the club successfully avoided relegation.
Now back at Brighton, Buonanotte is expected to leave again before the transfer window closes.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that clubs from the Premier League, La Liga, and Germany are all monitoring the Argentine international. Writing on X, Romano revealed that Schalke 04 have already submitted a formal approach, while several English and Spanish clubs are also exploring a deal.
Despite his disappointing spell at Leeds, Buonanotte previously impressed during a season-long loan at Leicester City in the 2024/25 campaign, showing the quality that continues to attract interest across Europe.
Speaking to Sussex World in May, Brighton head coach Fabian Hürzeler admitted it was difficult to pinpoint why the move to Leeds failed. He explained that assessing a player’s situation from a distance is never easy, but confirmed the club would review Buonanotte’s season in detail once it ended.
Hürzeler added that Brighton planned to evaluate what the player needs to improve, identify the type of environment where he can perform at his best, and determine the most suitable next step in his development, stressing that supporting the player’s progress is the club’s responsibility.
