Portsmouth have been dealt another injury concern after luckless attacker Kaide Gordon suffered a fresh setback ahead of the club’s final pre-season friendly against SV Darmstadt. Head coach John Mousinho revealed the former Liverpool youngster felt discomfort in his hip during the warm-up before Saturday’s kick-off, forcing another frustrating interruption to his preparations.
Mousinho admitted the growing injury list is becoming a major concern as Pompey edge closer to the new Championship season. “It’s where we are at the moment. I don’t think we necessarily have the luxury of letting too many players out until we have those incomings, so we have to make sure we have enough players to go to West Ham,” he explained.
The 22-year-old joined Portsmouth from Liverpool in August 2024 and has made 28 appearances for the Blues. Gordon will now undergo further assessment, with the club hoping the latest issue proves minor ahead of the competitive campaign.
