Brighton & Hove Albion youngster Jack Hinshelwood is attracting serious attention from some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, with Arsenal reportedly leading the race for his signature.
Recent reports claim Arsenal have identified the 21-year-old as a priority target and have already made contact with his representatives. A potential deal could be worth between £43 million and £51 million, although Brighton are under no pressure to sell after handing Hinshelwood a new long-term contract.
Manchester United are also understood to have maintained their interest in the versatile midfielder and are considering a move of their own. Manchester City have likewise been mentioned as another potential suitor, meaning Brighton could face a major battle to keep one of their academy graduates.
Hinshelwood’s versatility is one of the main reasons he has attracted such attention. He can operate in central or defensive midfield and has also demonstrated his ability to play at full-back. That tactical flexibility has reportedly appealed to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
For Brighton, however, the situation is unlikely to be straightforward. The club will want to retain a player who has developed through their academy and established himself as an important first-team option.
