The Buckeyes are coming off an impressive 82–74 overtime win over Minnesota, powered by a 26-point performance from John Mobley Jr.
Michigan enters the matchup with a dominant 17–1 record and has been especially strong at home, where it owns an 8–1 mark. The Wolverines lead the Big Ten in rebounding, averaging nearly 40 boards per game, with Aday Mara contributing a team-high 7.2 rebounds.
Ohio State sits at 13–5 overall and 5–3 in conference play. Defensively, the Buckeyes rank sixth in the Big Ten in defensive rebounding, led by Bruce Thornton, who averages 4.7 boards per contest.
Offensively, Michigan has been explosive, scoring 92.7 points per game — more than 20 points above what Ohio State typically allows. From beyond the arc, the Buckeyes average 7.8 three-pointers per game, slightly below the number Michigan gives up to opponents.
Friday’s contest marks the first Big Ten meeting between the rivals this season.
Key players to watch:
Elliot Cadeau averages 10.5 points for Michigan and hits 41.1% of his shots from three-point range. Over the last 10 games, Morez Johnson Jr. has been highly efficient, shooting 65.8% while averaging 13.3 points.
For Ohio State, Bruce Thornton leads the team with 20.7 points per game and also contributes 5.4 rebounds. Mobley has been red-hot from deep, averaging 3.4 made three-pointers across the last 10 outings.
Recent form:
Michigan has gone 9–1 in its last 10 games, averaging over 91 points while holding opponents under 71 per game. Ohio State is 6–4 over the same span, scoring just under 80 points per game and allowing 74.6.
