Portsmouth are reportedly on the verge of strengthening their midfield after reaching an agreement with Turkish Super Lig club Antalyaspor for Jesper Ceesay. According to Turkish journalist Resat Can Ozbudak, the Blues have agreed a €1 million deal for the Gambia international, reviving a transfer that had appeared to stall in late July.
The Swedish-born midfielder is primarily a defensive midfielder, operating in the number six role, an area John Mousinho has identified as a key priority this summer. His arrival would provide added steel, composure, and depth in the middle of the park ahead of the new Championship campaign.
Ceesay is set to become Portsmouth’s seventh signing of the summer, joining Rocco Shein, Marko Milovanovic, Odin Bailey, Eoin Kenny, Daniel Bielica, and Luke Brooke-Smith at Fratton Park. If the move is completed, it will mark another significant step in Mousinho’s ongoing squad rebuild as Pompey prepare for a demanding season.
