As spring practice gets underway in Columbus, Ohio, Ryan Day delivered a sobering update for fans of the Ohio State Buckeyes football. The head coach confirmed that two key players will begin spring camp sidelined due to injuries, dealing an early setback to the team’s preparations for the 2026 season.

Day revealed that both players suffered injuries during offseason training and will be limited or completely unavailable for portions of spring practice. While the coach avoided giving an exact timeline for their return, he emphasized that the program is prioritizing long-term health rather than rushing anyone back too soon.

Spring practice is often a crucial time for building chemistry, installing new schemes, and evaluating depth across the roster. Missing that time can slow development, particularly for players expected to play major roles once the regular season arrives.

Still, Day remained optimistic about the situation. He noted that the injuries create opportunities for younger players to step up, gain valuable reps, and show the coaching staff what they can contribute.

Despite the early adversity, the Buckeyes remain focused on preparation and competition. Day believes the team’s depth and resilience will help them navigate the challenge as they continue building toward another high-expectation season in Columbus.
