New York Knicks Guard Josh Hart Opens Up About Battling Multiple Injuries Late in the Season
Guard-forward Josh Hart, a key player for the New York Knicks, recently revealed that he has been struggling physically as the NBA season approaches its final stretch. During a recent episode of the Roommates Show, Hart spoke candidly about the toll the long season has taken on his body and the various injuries he is currently dealing with.
Hart, who celebrated his birthday on March 6, did not try to hide the difficulties he has been facing. When former NBA player Nate Robinson asked how things were going for him at this point in the season, Hart admitted that it has been challenging but said he is trying to remain mentally balanced.
He explained that this period of the season often feels like the “dog days,” meaning players are exhausted and dealing with accumulated wear and tear. Despite the challenges, he emphasized the importance of staying focused and not letting emotions swing too far in either direction.
However, when podcast host Matt Hillman directly asked whether he was currently dealing with injuries, Hart gave a straightforward answer. He revealed that several parts of his body are bothering him at the moment, including his ankle, knees, and back, all of which are causing significant discomfort.
Robinson responded jokingly by saying that players are not supposed to use more than three ice or heat packs at once, teasing Hart that he might be approaching retirement if he needs that many. Hart laughed at the joke but then described just how much treatment his body requires after every game.
According to Hart, as soon as he leaves the court after playing, he begins a lengthy recovery routine. He immediately goes to the locker room to start treatment, putting on therapeutic knee sleeves and back recovery devices while also applying ice packs to several areas of his body. He said that his knees, ankles, and back all require icing in order to manage the pain and swelling.
This level of physical maintenance highlights just how demanding the NBA season can be and raises concerns for the Knicks as they prepare for the postseason. Hart is one of the team’s most versatile players, known for his hustle, defense, and ability to contribute in multiple areas, so his health is extremely important for the team’s playoff ambitions.
Hart Missed Recent Game With Knee Soreness
Hart was listed as questionable and ultimately missed the Knicks’ recent game against the Utah Jazz due to soreness in his left knee.
Despite Hart’s absence, the Knicks still managed to perform strongly. Guard Jordan Clarkson stepped up in a big way during the game. Clarkson scored 27 points, shooting an impressive 10-for-15 from the field and knocking down three three-pointers.
His strong performance helped the Knicks stage an impressive comeback after falling behind by 18 points earlier in the game. The team ultimately secured a convincing 134–117 victory.
If Hart continues to miss games because of his injuries, the Knicks may need other players such as Landry Shamet and Jose Alvarado to take on larger roles and help fill the gap in the rotation.
Knicks Facing Multiple Injury Concerns
The Knicks are already dealing with several injury-related setbacks, which makes Hart’s situation even more concerning for the team.
Guard Miles McBride is currently sidelined after undergoing surgery to address a core muscle injury. His recovery timeline could potentially keep him out of action until the playoffs begin.
Meanwhile, star big man Karl-Anthony Towns is also dealing with soreness in both of his knees, leaving his status uncertain for upcoming games.
With the Knicks pushing hard to secure favorable playoff positioning in the standings, losing a hardworking and versatile player like Hart—even temporarily—could have a significant impact on the team’s performance. His ability to defend, rebound, and provide energy on the court makes him an essential part of the Knicks’ rotation.
As the postseason approaches, the team will be hoping that Hart can recover quickly and regain full health so he can contribute at his usual high level.
