Raúl Jiménez, who plays for Fulham, has once again left his future open-ended, especially regarding a possible return to his former club, Club América.
Jiménez began his career at Club América, where he developed in their academy and went on to spend three years in the senior team before moving to Europe in 2014 to join Atlético Madrid. Since then, he has played for several European clubs, including Benfica, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and currently Fulham.
Earlier in the year, he had already hinted at discussions with clubs in Mexico, Major League Soccer, and Saudi Arabia before ultimately extending his contract with Fulham. Around the same time, he also expressed that returning to Club América someday remained an important personal ambition.
Recently, after starting in Fulham’s 3–0 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, Jiménez spoke to Mexican media. He reflected on the match, acknowledging that Fulham began poorly and emphasizing the need for greater focus as the Premier League season approaches its final stages. He stressed that both he and the team must improve concentration in important matches if they want to finish strongly.
With his current contract set to expire in June and no clear decision yet from Fulham about his future, Jiménez was asked again whether he might return to Club América after the upcoming World Cup.
In response, he explained that nothing has been decided and that his future is still being worked on. He made it clear that Fulham’s decisions and any potential contract negotiations will play a major role in what happens next. According to him, everything depends on whether an offer is made and what terms are agreed, after which he will evaluate the best option for his career.
Overall, his comments suggest that he is open to staying at Fulham but is also waiting to see if the club offers him a new deal before making any decisions. So far this season, Jiménez has recorded 10 goals and 3 assists in 41 appearances for Fulham, and his market value is estimated at around €4 million.
