Reports from Fulham-linked sources suggest that Chelsea are still widely expected to allow Axel Disasi to leave the club at the end of the current season. However, Fulham are not rushing into any formal approach yet, as they are waiting for Chelsea to make a final decision regarding his future before advancing any potential transfer interest.
The French defender has recently regained consistent playing time during his loan spell at West Ham, which he joined in January. Since arriving, he has become an important figure in their squad and has contributed significantly to helping the team move away from the relegation zone. His impact has been noticeable, with his defensive performances reportedly helping West Ham achieve more clean sheets than Chelsea themselves have managed this season, highlighting ongoing defensive struggles at Stamford Bridge, particularly in the absence of Levi Colwill.
Chelsea are also believed to be considering adjustments to their transfer strategy, with indications that the club may focus more on bringing in experienced players going forward.
According to additional reporting, Fulham’s interest in Disasi remains active, but any potential move is heavily dependent on the valuation Chelsea place on the player. Sources close to the club, as reported by iNews, have indicated that while Fulham are still monitoring the situation, they will only proceed if the financial demands are considered reasonable for a West London transfer.
At the same time, Aston Villa—who previously had Disasi on loan—are also understood to be interested in signing him permanently, especially if they secure strong league or European qualification outcomes. Chelsea are expected to attempt to recover a significant portion of the approximately £39 million they originally paid for the defender, although it is anticipated that they may struggle to reach that valuation in the current market.
There is also speculation that Chelsea could explore creative transfer solutions involving Disasi, such as using him as part of a swap deal. One such idea involves facilitating a move for transfer target Morgan Rogers, who is valued at around £100 million, by including Disasi in negotiations to reduce the overall fee. This would also potentially give Disasi the opportunity to return to European football if he were to join a club like Aston Villa, who are competing for top positions in the Premier League and aiming for Champions League qualification either through league placement or European success.
