Much of the attention around Duke’s season has focused on Cameron Boozer, one of the top players in the country and widely projected as a top-three pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. However, his twin brother Cayden Boozer is also earning recognition as a potential first-round talent in his own right.
Although Cayden doesn’t have the same spotlight or workload as Cameron, he’s still producing effectively in his role. He’s averaging 22.3 minutes per game, shooting 38.5% from beyond the arc, and contributing 4.0 assists per contest. Known for his vision and playmaking, he consistently creates opportunities for teammates.
Jonathan Wasserman of Bleacher Report suggested that Cayden would be an excellent fit for the Oklahoma City Thunder, projecting him to go late in the first round with the No. 26 pick. Wasserman noted that while Cayden’s stats may not be flashy, his advanced feel for running an offense stands out. His unselfishness, basketball IQ, and ability to make the right reads are traits evaluators appreciate. Though some scouts may question his athleticism or scoring upside for a lead guard, Wasserman believes there will be enough evidence by season’s end—such as his shotmaking, floater game, and timely drives—to show he has more offensive potential than his current role allows.
Selecting Cayden Boozer would be an intriguing move for the Thunder, but far from a risky one. At 6-foot-4, with solid point-guard skills and an underrated profile, he could easily be a prospect who is quietly rising on draft boards.
