Brighton & Hove Albion supporters have become accustomed to dreaming bigger than ever before. A club that spent decades battling outside English football’s elite has transformed into one of the Premier League’s smartest and most respected outfits. Now, with Fabian Hurzeler at the helm, there is growing belief that another memorable chapter could be about to unfold.

Returning to European football would represent another major milestone for the Seagulls, but if the current project continues on its upward trajectory, there is no reason fans cannot dare to dream of something even greater in the years ahead.

Brighton have already shown they belong among England’s top clubs. Their sixth-place Premier League finish in 2022-23 and subsequent Europa League campaign proved that success at the highest level is achievable. Although maintaining those standards is never easy in one of the world’s toughest leagues, the foundations remain firmly in place.

Hurzeler inherited a squad packed with youth, technical quality and resale value, but more importantly, one capable of competing with established Premier League sides. Players such as Carlos Baleba, Jack Hinshelwood, Yankuba Minteh, João Pedro and others have the talent to become the backbone of another European push if they continue developing together.

The German coach has already demonstrated his ability to organize teams, improve young players and implement an energetic style of football. Those qualities align perfectly with Brighton’s long-term recruitment strategy, which has consistently identified emerging talent before many of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Qualifying for Europe again is a realistic objective if Brighton can maintain consistency, stay relatively free from injuries and continue taking points against teams around them. The competition for European places will always be fierce, but the Seagulls have repeatedly shown they are capable of upsetting the traditional order.

As for the Premier League title, that remains a far greater challenge. Clubs such as Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool possess financial resources and squad depth that Brighton cannot yet match. However, football has shown that long-term planning, exceptional recruitment and elite coaching can gradually close that gap.

Leicester City’s remarkable title triumph in 2015-16 remains proof that the seemingly impossible can become reality under the right circumstances. Brighton are building a different model, but one equally based on intelligent decision-making rather than unlimited spending.

No one should expect the Seagulls to lift the Premier League trophy overnight. Yet if Hurzeler continues to develop the squad, the club keeps recruiting wisely and key players are retained long enough to build continuity, Brighton could establish themselves as regular European contenders while laying the foundations for an unlikely but unforgettable title challenge in the future.

For supporters who have never seen their club win a major trophy or the Premier League, hope has become part of the journey. The wait has lasted generations, but under Fabian Hurzeler, there is every reason to believe Brighton’s best days may still lie ahead.
