Derby County have wasted little time strengthening their squad this summer, securing the signings of Bobby Clark, Charlie Taylor and Filip Bilbija as they continue preparations for the new Championship campaign.
The Rams are not finished in the transfer market, with Ipswich Town forward Sam Szmodics emerging as their next priority. Derby are pushing to complete a deal for the attacker, with head coach John Eustace eager to reunite with the player following his successful loan spell at Pride Park during the second half of last season.
Recruitment remains ongoing, with Derby still targeting a central midfielder and additional wide options. At the same time, departures are expected as the club reshapes its squad before the transfer window closes.
Corey Blackett-Taylor, Kenzo Goudmijn and Ryan Nyambe are all available should suitable offers arrive, with the trio currently on the fringes of Eustace’s first-team plans.
Nyambe joined the squad for their pre-season training camp in Austria, while Blackett-Taylor continues his recovery from a thigh injury. Goudmijn, meanwhile, missed the trip after picking up a minor knock.
With more transfer activity anticipated in the coming weeks, Derby’s squad continues to evolve as they balance incoming signings with potential exits.
