Walsall Strengthen Midfield with Loan Signing of Coventry City’s Isaac Moore
Walsall Football Club have bolstered their midfield ranks by completing the loan signing of promising Coventry City midfielder Isaac Moore for the duration of the 2026/27 season. The 20-year-old joins the Saddlers from the Sky Blues on a season-long agreement and will continue his development at the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium.
Moore is a graduate of Coventry City’s highly regarded academy, where he progressed through the youth ranks before earning opportunities in senior football. Having signed a new three-year contract with Coventry in June 2025, the midfielder was subsequently sent out on loan to gain valuable first-team experience.
During the first half of last season, Moore featured for Forest Green Rovers in the National League under the management of Robbie Savage. He quickly established himself as an influential presence in midfield, making 25 appearances across all competitions while contributing four goals and four assists. One of his standout moments came in the National League Cup when he captained the side against Wolverhampton Wanderers Under-21s and scored his first goal for the club.
In the second half of the campaign, Moore completed another loan switch, joining Solihull Moors during the winter transfer window. The move provided him with further opportunities to gain regular senior football experience and continue his development in a competitive environment.
Speaking after the signing was confirmed, Walsall Head Coach Lee Grant expressed his delight at securing Moore’s services, describing the midfielder as a player the club had been tracking for some time.
Grant highlighted Moore’s determination, ambition, and willingness to improve, noting that despite being only 20 years old, he already possesses valuable experience from his loan spells at both Forest Green Rovers and Solihull Moors. He believes the midfielder has the attitude and commitment required to make a positive impact at Walsall while continuing his progression as a young professional.
The Walsall boss also thanked Coventry City for entrusting the club with one of their emerging talents, expressing confidence that the Saddlers can provide an environment that will help Moore develop both on and off the pitch throughout the coming season.
Moore’s arrival represents another important addition to Walsall’s squad as the club continues preparations for the new campaign. Supporters will be eager to see how the talented young midfielder adapts to League Two football and whether he can build on the encouraging performances he produced during his previous loan spells.
With senior experience already under his belt and a reputation as a hardworking and technically gifted midfielder, Moore now has the opportunity to establish himself as an important player for the Saddlers while furthering his long-term development with parent club Coventry City.
