John Mousinho has spoken with visible emotion following recent speculation surrounding his possible sacking, expressing deep pain over the situation while pointing to a lack of financial backing as a major factor behind the club’s struggles. In a candid response, Mousinho suggested results have not reflected solely on coaching, but also on the limited support provided during crucial transfer windows.

The Portsmouth head coach made it clear that building a competitive side requires investment, and without the resources needed to strengthen key areas, the task became increasingly difficult. He reportedly conveyed his frustrations to the management, arguing that expectations must be matched with support if success is to be delivered.

“There has been pain, because I believe in this project,” Mousinho said. “But results are shaped by more than what happens on the touchline. Support in the market matters.”

Despite the tension, Mousinho ended on a positive and appreciative note, welcoming Michael Eisner’s reported promise to release transfer funds aimed at boosting the squad’s strength. The gesture, he suggested, could mark a turning point for the club.

Rather than dwell on division, Mousinho appeared focused on moving forward, praising Eisner’s decision as a sign of renewed ambition. For supporters, the message is one of frustration, honesty, and perhaps hope that stronger backing can reignite Portsmouth’s push forward.
