The Toffees are reluctant to meet those demands and are now considering walking away from the deal rather than breaking their wage structure. Club officials are believed to be exploring alternative options in the transfer market, with a Burnley goalkeeper now emerging as a leading candidate to strengthen Everton’s goalkeeping department.
While talks with Roefs have not completely collapsed, both parties remain some distance apart financially.
